For many years, the De La Chapelle workshops were
adjacent to the site of the Lyon Grand Prix race track, and Xavier de
la Chapelle always dreamed of being able one day to render due homage
to that glorious period in motor racing history. And that is exactly what
he did in 1992 with the creation of the Grand Prix model. |

In fact, it was at the Lyon Grand Prix, in August
1923, that the first Grand Prix Bugatti appeared. This was the famous
Type 35 which has even today never been equalled, with 150 victories to
its credit. |
This Grand Prix appellation would later be used
for several models with factory built racing bodies, such as the mythical
Type 35 and the Types 51, 54 and 59. |

With a lightened, extremely rigid chassis, the
De La Chapelle Grand Prix fulfills a dual vocation :
- To satisfy sporty drivers with the choice of several engines (over 220Kph
with the 240bhp version), safe, efficient handling (wishbone suspension)
and the exhilaration of an authentic roadster.
- To perpetuate the De la Chapelle tradition by offering clients an exceptional
product of quality, distinction and exclusivity. |
Each De La Chapelle Grand Prix is built to order.
The car is hand-built by dedicated craftsmen. It will bear
a signature of authentification in the form of a numbered plate. |

The Grand Prix takes its place alongside the
great classics of the marque, the Type 55 Roadster and Tourer, built
since 1978 and the Atalante Type 57 S which was unveiled at the 1992
Salon de Genève. |
